How we teach
Studying with us:
ARE NOT YOU BORED
The teacher uses a diverse range of activities to develop both language proficiency and correctness.
YOURSELF IN YOURSELF AND DEVELOP CORRECTNESS
The teacher corrects students 'mistakes during exercises aimed at developing linguistic correctness, but does not interrupt the listeners' statements during the conversation, which positively influences the acquisition of fluency and self-confidence.
YOU WILL HAVE MORE EFFECTIVELY
Grammar rules are not presented in the form of a lecture, but through activities during which the students themselves come to the formulation of grammatical rules (guided discovery). This increases the chance of information being encoded in long-term memory.
YOU LEARN WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU
The subject matter of the classes is as close as possible to the interests and personal and professional life of the students.
SPEAKING ENGLISH BECOMES FAST NATURAL
The teacher uses mainly English during classes, adjusting the lexical and grammatical scope to the level of the students, at the same time extending it with new elements (comprehensive input + 1).
YOU LEARN NOT ONLY IN CLASSES
After each class, the teacher places the lesson notes and other audio and video materials used in the class on the Evernote platform.
Each week, B1 and above learners get access to hundreds of up-to-date articles from English-language newspapers and magazines, as well as links to interesting radio shows, podcasts and video footage, which are a natural extension of the topics covered in the classroom.
Principled Eclecticismwith a large dose of Dogme ELT
Under a mysterious namePrincipled Eclecticism the belief is that there is no miracle method for teaching a foreign language. Unfortunately, there is no one revolutionary teaching system superior to any other in every respect. It was not ani Grammar Translation Method, ani so-calledCallan method. Suggestopedia , ani Total Physical Response.Even Communicative Approachmethodology that has dominated most language schools for decades, has many disadvantages and does not fully use the potential of the students. However, it should be remembered that each of the methods has its undeniable advantages, contains techniques that work well in developing individual skills and offers the teacher a variety of working tools.Prinicipled Eclecticism it is the art of choosing the most effective way of reaching your destination.
Principled Eclecticism it starts with two basic steps:
-
accurately identifying the needs, goals and learning styles of learners
-
selection of optimal means to achieve the goals.
As a result, each group, each learner has a unique curriculum. This approach is very consistent with the rulesDogme ELT.
Ruch Dogme ELT, initiated by Scott Thornbury in 2009, rests on three pillars:
-
stimulating the involvement of the listener as a necessary condition for the acquisition of knowledge
-
lack of textbooks that limit both learners and teachers
-
motivating students to discover language rules
We also apply these three principles to our students.
